Well, ok — perhaps persimmons are not the best example for this website tip, given that they are somewhat “puckering”!
If your farm grows strawberries, add interest and searchability to the site by including strawberry recipes. Or pumpkin recipes (and carving tips) for pumpkin farms.
Think of having recipes posted in PDF format on cards with your farm’s logo and website on them. They can be downloaded, printed and tucked into the viewer’s collection — with a memory of their trip to the farm.
Well, we managed to get an invitation to this year’s MAiZE members conference (fondly referred to as the “CornParty”) in Houston, Texas, in early March. Besides having the opportunity to visit with “our farmers”, we’ll be doing a bit of presenting with Kamille Combs, the marketing guru at The MAiZE, Inc.
We will address one of the work sessions with some brief commentary on how to make sense of your website statistics, and how to create web opportunities (using stats) to track the effectiveness of print advertising.
We are also participating in a kisok adventure for giving folks a quick critique of their website. So, we look forward to seeing you in Houston at the CornParty!
